Islamabad: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has stated his belief that the country will soon be free of polio.
Speaking at a crucial polio eradication conference in Islamabad today (Monday), he reaffirmed the commitment to overcoming diseases like polio as a group.
We won’t be sitting quietly until polio is eradicated for good, the prime minister declared. Additionally, he praised the government polio team’s efforts to eradicate the illness.
During the recent anti-polio campaign, Shehbaz Sharif instructed Secretary of Health, Coordinator of National Health Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Bharath, and Focal Person for Anti-Polio Ayesha Raza Farooq to travel to the most polio-affected regions of the nation.
Additionally, he directed that the anti-polio campaign be audited by a third party.
