In separate messages, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed solidarity with the Kashmiris as they commemorate the ‘Black Day’ in protest of India’s illegal occupation of the region. They pledged their unwavering support until the inalienable right to self-determination is achieved.
Pakistan would remain side by side with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters till the Kashmir problem is finally resolved and Kashmir is free, President Zardari declared.
In the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the president called on the international community to put pressure on India to stop violating human rights, ease the suffering of Kashmiris, and carry out UN Security Council (UNSC) policies.
He also underlined Pakistan’s steadfast moral, diplomatic, and political support for the just cause of the Kashmiri people and denounced India’s continued crimes in the unjustly seized area.
The people of IIOJK have endured many sufferings during the past 77 years of occupation, according to PM Shehbaz Sharif’s statement on the occasion.
He claimed that after New Delhi eliminated the disputed region’s special status on August 5, 2019, India has been taking increasing measures to strengthen its hold on IIOJK.
“India’s nefarious designs are aimed at undermining the disputed status of IIOJK and denying the Kashmiri people their democratic right to decide their own future,” he stated.
Pakistan would continue to provide Kashmiris with full political, diplomatic, and moral support, the prime minister pledged.
