At a series of investor forums hosted by Citibank, Standard Chartered, and JP Morgan, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb underlined the economy’s good tendencies.
The minister informed investors about the economy’s strong performance in the most recent fiscal year (2023–24) and conveyed satisfaction that all economic indicators were heading in the right direction. The minister is leading Pakistan’s delegation to the WB and IMF Annual Meetings, which will take place in Washington, DC, from October 21–26, 2024.
In particular, the minister discussed the role of provincial governments in raising the tax-to-GDP ratio and the National Fiscal Pact that the federal government signed. The minister also emphasised significant reforms in the areas of energy, taxation, SOEs, privatisation, and government right-sizing.
