With a focus on inclusive growth, education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has pledged to keep working with international partners.
He stated in a statement on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty that ending poverty is not just a moral obligation but also a crucial tenet of attaining sustainable development and guaranteeing everyone’s peace and prosperity.
In spite of global issues like inflation and economic uncertainty, the prime minister stated that the government is still dedicated to making living more affordable for its citizens.
According to him, the government’s focused initiatives are meant to empower communities—particularly women and children—and provide them with the resources they require to create a better future.
According to Shehbaz Sharif, the government’s programs like the PM Youth Business, Agriculture Loans, Digi-Skills—free IT training—and the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund are changing lives by giving millions of families access to financial and technical support.
According to him, Pakistan is still fully committed to reaching the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals, among which eradicating poverty is at the top.
Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his strong commitment to ending poverty and invited all sectors to contribute to the creation of a more wealthy, just, and inclusive society.
Meanwhile on Thursday, Pakistan and Mongolia decided to establish an interparliamentary union to deepen their bilateral parliamentary connections and a Joint Ministerial Commission to improve cooperation in the fields of trade, tourism, agriculture, and mining.
On the margins of the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) Meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his Mongolian counterpart Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene met to discuss bilateral relations, according to a news release from the PM Office.
Prime Minister Shehbaz recommended during the meeting that both parties look into new opportunities for mutually beneficial collaboration, with an emphasis on trade, investment, and interpersonal relationships.
In order to strengthen the fraternal connections between the two nations, he recommended designating 2025 as the year of Pakistan-Mongolia friendship and offered the Mongolian side the opportunity to send civil officials to training facilities in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz greeted Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene with great warmth and said that his visit signalled the beginning of a new era in the bilateral relationship, one characterised by amity, goodwill, and respect for one another.
Shehbaz Sharif congratulated him on his reelection as Mongolia’s prime minister and said he was eager to collaborate closely with Oyun-Erdene in the coming days to deepen the two nations’ partnership.
Oyun-Erdene expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its leadership as the SCO CHG Chair and congratulated the prime minister on the successful conduct of the meeting. He retorted that Mongolia and Pakistan both wished to strengthen and deepen their bilateral ties via cooperation and teamwork.
Additionally, the prime minister of Mongolia planted a seedling at the Prime Minister’s House yard.
