The New Gwadar International Airport has been formally opened by Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Gwadar International Airport’s completion is a gift from China, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif remarked during Monday night’s opening ceremony in Islamabad.
He claimed that it demonstrates China’s commitment to advancing Pakistan’s underdeveloped regions and supporting its economic development program.
He conveyed his belief that the completion of this international Gwadar Airport will revolutionise the nation’s economy in addition to Gwadar’s.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to Chinese leadership for the tireless efforts of Pakistan and Chinese engineers and labourers in constructing a world-class airport in Gwadar.
According to Shehbaz Sharif, the prime ministers of both Pakistan and China attended a signing ceremony and exchange of memorandums of understanding in a number of areas, including business, agriculture, and industry.
The prime minister expressed optimism that with both nations’ combined efforts, these MOUs will soon become agreements.
Prior to this, Pakistan and China inked 13 agreements on Monday to deepen their bilateral cooperation in a number of areas, including science and technology, education, agriculture, human resources development, and security.
Following delegation-level discussions between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese President Li Qiang, during which they covered all facets of Pakistan-China relations, including trade and economic relationships as well as collaboration under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the contracts were signed.
