Attaullah Tarar, the Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, stated on Monday that Pakistan, which had previously been isolated on foreign policy issues, has now become a significant participant in the area.
Speaking to the media following the opening of the Pak-China Friendship Center’s Media Facilitation Centre, he claimed that the current administration had been successful in lifting the nation’s diplomatic isolation and that high-level delegations from numerous nations had recently begun to visit Pakistan.
“We are a very active player in the region, and we have to play an active role in the region” , he said.
According to him, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim just returned from an extremely fruitful trip to Pakistan, and the two nations signed
agreements to strengthen bilateral collaboration across a multitude of fields.
According to Tarar, a high-level Saudi group headed by a minister arrived following his visit and signed numerous memorandums of understanding for 2.2 billion dollars in Saudi investment in Pakistan.
He claimed that all of Pakistan’s economic data was improving, with inflation falling to a record 6.9 percent from 32% the previous year.
He claimed that remittances reached the $8.8 billion level in the first quarter of the current fiscal year and that foreign exchange reserves and IT exports had increased.
He said that Pakistan’s economy was commended by global financial organisations such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
