Saudi Minister for Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih said on Thursday that the ties between his country and Pakistan “have no limits” and the same applies to their economic cooperation.
“We need to make Pakistan’s economy stronger. During his three-day visit to Islamabad, the minister made the statement, “Pakistan has quickly stabilised its economy,” at the Pakistan-Saudi Business Forum.
The World Bank, which stated that Pakistan saw a swift rebound and predicted that its economy would rise by 2.8% in the current fiscal year, echoed the minister’s remarks.
A day earlier, a high-level delegation of 135 Saudi officials, led by the minister of investments, arrived in Islamabad and is scheduled to sign $2 billion worth of deals with Pakistan.
The Saudi dignitary highlighted the long relationship between the two nations while speaking at the ceremony, saying, “We are family, not friends.” Relationships between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan do not require a formal agreement to be established.”
“Social ideals and our economics are intertwined. He said that there are up to 2.5 million Pakistanis employed in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Falih referred to his meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, stating that the former had guaranteed the creation of a single window in the Kingdom for Saudi investments in the nation, while the latter had placed emphasis on the growth and development of Pak-Saudi friendship.
