Rashid Mahmood appointed new FBR chairman

Media outlets cited a notification on Wednesday to indicate that Rashid Mahmood Langrial of the Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS) has been selected by the federal government to lead the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The letter, sent today by the Cabinet Secretariat’s Establishment Division, stated that the grade-21 official “is transferred and posted as Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue, under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, with immediate effect.”
The prime minister was reportedly considering the PAS officer’s name for the position of head of the government body, according to sources earlier today.
The author of the book “Socioeconomic Conditions of Women Through Time” is Langrial, a graduate of Harvard Kennedy School and Government College Lahore, where he completed his Master’s in Public Administration (International Development) (MPA-ID).
