On Sunday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid respect to the police officers and staff who lost their lives in the line of duty, stating that their sacrifices were unparalleled in their ability to eradicate crime.
The prime minister remarked on Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Police that the day served as a reminder of the courage and bravery exhibited by law enforcement.
The prime minister was quoted by PM Office Media Wing in an Urdu-language press release as stating, “In the fight against terrorism, the police force had always played a leading role and police personnel laid down their lives to secure and brighten the future of nation.”
He went on to say that the country as a whole honoured the sacrifices made by its fallen police officers and was proud of them.
President Asif Ali Zardari also praised Shuhada of the police force and stated that the police officers who died on the battlefield had made significant sacrifices in the battle against terrorism.
The president praised the police force’s shuhada for their unparalleled bravery and selflessness.
The brave police force has made sacrifices for which the entire country is proud. “The police officers gave their lives in battle against terrorists and criminal elements on the front lines,” President Secretariat Press Wing stated in a press release, paraphrasing the president.
President Zardari highlighted the police force’s contribution to the war against terrorism by saying that police officers had been risking their lives in various regions of the nation in battles against terrorists and anti-social forces.
