Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam has made a plea to the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) and the global community to fulfil their essential role in resolving the region’s long-standing Kashmir valley dispute.
Speaking at a news conference held here on Sunday, the minister stated that the Kashmir dispute need to be settled by a UN decision since there can be no peace and prosperity in the area if this problem is not resolved.
He claimed that the current administration was successfully bringing attention to the Kashmir dispute on all relevant international forums. The minister emphasised that since August 5, 2019, over 900 individuals have died and numerous widows have been detained by Indian authorities in the last five years.
