‘Issue of Article 6 against PTI can be brought in Parliament’

Azam Nazeer Tarar, the minister of law and justice, stated on Thursday that the constitution allows for the appointment of ad hoc judges.

He remarked that the issue of putting PTI leaders under Article 6 might be discussed in Parliament.

The minister refuted reports that Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa’s term was being extended in a statement, claiming that the dispute over government officials’ tenure extensions stemmed from the hefty pension expense. He claimed that during a meeting with the Chief Justice about the Judicial Commission in late April or early May, the Chief Justice expressed his disinterest in having the tenure extended.
