On Sunday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif gave the urgent order to establish a committee in order to revive the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project.
Here at PM House, the prime minister was presiding over a meeting to assess the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower project’s progress.
He received a thorough briefing during the meeting explaining that power generation from the power plant was reduced on April 29, 2024, as a result of a pressure drop in the right and left head race tunnels of the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project, and that power generation was entirely stopped on May 2, 2024.
The leader of the investigative committee looking into the recent errors, former Federal Interior Secretary Shahid Khan, gave a preliminary investigation report during the meeting.
