The government is not in danger, according to Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, following the Supreme Court’s decision in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) reserved seat issue.
The minister declared, “We still have a majority of 209 members and the verdict has not been completed yet,” following the top court’s decision to grant the PTI reserved seats.
Tarar stated that he was not sure if the administration will submit a review petition against the decision.
The outcome follows the Supreme Court’s (8-5) majority decision to overturn the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) ruling upholding the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to refuse the SIC the reserved seats.
