On Tuesday, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, stressed the critical role that Islamic scholars play in preserving the nation’s unity, fraternity, and peace—especially during Muharram-ul-Haram 1446 AH and the days that lie ahead.
Speaking at a gathering of prominent academics and religious figures from Pakistan, he made this statement at the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), which is chaired by Dr. Raghib Naeemi.
Minister Salik emphasised that the last vestiges of radicalism and extremism in the nation were almost completely eliminated.
Dr. Raghib Naeemi, the chairman of CII, gave the meeting’s consensus declaration. He said that in addition to bolstering the National Action Plan, the “Azm-e-Istihkam” effort would bring about the required peace outcomes.
