The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) politician Mustafa Kamal and Senator Faisal Vawda submitted an apology on Friday, and the Supreme Court rescinded the contempt of court summons that had been issued against them.
Both Senator Faisal Vawda and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Mustafa Kamal have realised that the language they used were unsuitable, according to the court’s order, which was read by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
“They have now withdrawn their statement and tendered an unconditional apology to the court,” stated the order.
Vawda said he had put himself at the mercy of the supreme court when he submitted an unqualified apology to the court in the contempt case. Kamal had also demanded an unqualified apology earlier this month for his remarks disparaging the court.
