Pakistan said on Wednesday that the US House of Representatives’ resolution 901, which demonstrated a lack of knowledge of its political climate and electoral process, was neither objective nor productive.
Pakistan had taken notice of the resolution, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said in response to questions from the media on its passing on Tuesday.
“We believe that the timing and context of this particular resolution does not align well with the positive dynamics of our bilateral ties, and stems from an incomplete understanding of the political situation and electoral process in Pakistan,” she said.
The world’s second-largest parliamentary democracy and fifth-largest democracy overall, Pakistan, according to the spokeswoman, is dedicated to the principles of constitutionalism, human rights, and the rule of law.
