Senators demand broader economic dialogue, people’s centric approach

In order to help the masses affected by the economic downturn and inflation, the senators on Friday demanded that both the government and the opposition launch a more comprehensive economic discourse and adopt a people-centric approach in the Budget 2024–25.

The National Assembly was receiving proposals on the Finance Bill, 2024, from members of the Upper House of Parliament.

The Holy Quran’s Surah Al-Furqan, which contains verses about the qualities of the virtuous and followers of Rehman (the Almighty Allah), who walk politely on earth and bear the best virtues of starting conversations with Salam (Salutation), seeking the Almighty’s forgiveness from Hell, and who are neither extravagant nor thrifty but maintain balance in their spending, kicked off the session 22 minutes later than scheduled.
