The government of Punjab has taken a bold move to drastically alter the state of governance in the province.
For the first time in Punjab’s history, a decision has been made to reorganise the province’s ministries and departments drastically, with the goal of eliminating superfluous, incompetent, and deficit-prone organisations. Additional organisations with comparable responsibilities will be closed.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the chief minister of Punjab, gave her approval to the reorganisation plan. Reducing the number of ministries and merging institutions that handle comparable tasks will facilitate the conduct of official activities. The process of restructuring and downsizing will simplify, expedite, and streamline the functioning of public sector processes and institutions.
