Vawda refuses to tender apology in contempt case

Senator Faisal Vawda has requested an end to the contempt case and refused to offer the Supreme Court an unequivocal apology, claiming that multiple other people have made comments that are similar to his.
In response to his anti-judiciary comments made during his news conference on May 15, Vawda requested that the court use caution while imposing contempt of court.
He replied to the notice by requesting that the Supreme Court drop the contempt of court proceedings against him, claiming that the welfare of the nation was the motivation behind his supposedly hostile news conference.
The politician made the statement one day before he was scheduled to appear in court for a contempt of court charge related to his outburst against the judiciary on the judges’ letter from the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
