First look of Malala from debut web series finally unveiled

It appears that spectators will be treated to a treat. We Are Lady Parts chronicles the highs and lows of a punk band made up of Muslim women. Malala can be seen in the most recent pictures sitting atop a horse while wearing a blue robe and a cowboy hat to complete her ensemble. Season 2 of the programme, which had a great debut season, premieres on May 30. For her appearance, Malala appears with band members Faith Omole (An Ideal Husband, Endeavour), Sarah Kameela Impey (Vera, Halcyon Heights), Anjana Vasan (Wicked Little Letters, Black Mirror), Juliaette Motamed (Halo, Magic Mike’s Last Dance), and Lucie Shorthouse (Rebus, Henpocalypse!).

After the high of their first UK tour, the band returns for series two with a reinvigorated artistic objective, only to find a rival band threatening to destroy everything they have fought so hard to achieve. The band members begin to wonder if making it big in the music industry is really what they want as the reality of chasing success crashes down on them. The show’s creator, Manzoor, who drew inspiration for the series from her personal experiences, stated in a previous interview that the upcoming season will go deeper into each character’s inner life. She said, “Each of them facing new, existential challenges with all the humour, pratfalls, and silliness of season one.” Charged with writing additional original music for the programme.
