Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the country on Youm-e-Takbeer, stating that the day represents the combined effort of all elements of national power, conquering an obstacle that appeared insurmountable and reaching a significant milestone in the nation’s defence capabilities.
PM Shehbaz Sharif wrote, “May 28 signifies more than just a mere commemoration of a day; it encapsulates the narrative of our nation’s arduous yet remarkable path towards establishing a credible minimum deterrence,” in a post that was shared on the X platform on Tuesday.
He claimed that on this momentous day in 1998, PM Nawaz Sharif showed audacious leadership by turning down terrifying pressure and inducements to empower Pakistan with nuclear weapons.
“I also honour the pioneer of Pakistan’s nuclear programme, the late Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto”, PM said.
