Naqvi directs NADRA to make national registration policy

Mohsin Naqvi, the federal interior minister, gave the order to create a national registration policy on Thursday during a review meeting for the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA).
During a meeting, the minister stated that citizenship and identity card authenticity are very important, and that a comprehensive policy should be developed in this regard.
Additionally, he instructed the development of a consensus on this policy across all provinces, as the union council holds foundational status and NADRA access to union councils is vital in this regard.
According to him, the policy will ensure that citizen registration is secure and transparent.
According to the minister, the new policy would also stop unauthorised citizenship registration, which is what led to the revelation of the problem with issuing identity cards and passports to foreign nationals.
