Pakistan firmly upholds one-China principle: President

Pakistan has consistently chosen to be on the right side of history, and President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed that the nation is firmly committed to the one-China concept.

On Wednesday, the 73rd anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, the president stated in an interview with Chinese media that “Pakistani people loved China as “there is no conditionality between us.”

After being re-elected twice in March, this was President Zardari’s first interview of that kind with any international media.

Speaking about the relationship between the two nations’ prior leaders, Zardari remarked, “My late father-in-law, Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto told the nation to look East, to look towards China.”
