According to a report released on Thursday, the federal government has petitioned the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to raise the basic price for the financial year 2024–25 by Rs6.51.
The government plans to raise the power purchase price from the current Rs20.60 per unit to Rs27.11 per unit, according to the publication.
This comes after the regulatory board last week approved a raise in power tariff of Rs2.83 per unit for the month of March 20204 due to a monthly fuel adjustment.
The notification from Nepra stated that all consumer groups were affected by the aforementioned modification of Rs2.8372.kWh, with the exception of lifeline users, K-electric consumers, and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS).
