Reiterating the government’s laser-like emphasis on economic progress, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated on Monday that the government was following its growth programme through extensive reforms and structural adjustments.
“My government is fully dedicated to implementing significant structural and reform changes. We are slowly moving in that direction because if we don’t, it will be a pointless endeavour with unsatisfactory outcomes. We are fully committed to implementing the reform programme,” he stated in an interview.
The prime minister told the interviewer that Pakistan was dealing with severe macroeconomic issues, such as a high GDP growth ratio, massive debt, a lack of energy, a shoddy power transmission infrastructure, line losses, and costly power generation. Other difficulties include making money, corruption, using technology less, and having insufficient oversight and monitoring.
