Pakistan’s military forces, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), and the heads of the services vehemently denounced the violent crimes committed during last year’s May 9 riots on Thursday and vowed to hold their “executors” accountable.
May 9 (Black Day) is considered one of the darkest days in the history of the country. According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), miscreants with political motivations and brainwashing deliberately used violence against state institutions and vandalised national heritage sites and sacred symbols as part of their rebellion.
Around the nation, there were violent protests and rioting, particularly in the garrison town, where angry crowds vandalised both public and private property, including military installations.
