Maj-Gen Ahmed Sharif, the Director General (DG) of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated on Tuesday that the PTI could only engage in discussion if it “earnestly apologises in front of the nation,” commits to using “constructive politics,” and renounces “politics of anarchy.”
Just two days before May 9, a day that is highly significant in the political landscape of the nation because it was on this day last year that military installations came under attack in response to PTI founder Imran Khan’s arrest, which served as the catalyst for a harsh state crackdown against him and his party. The DG ISPR made the remarks during a lengthy press conference in Rawalpindi.
