The “truth was hidden for 76 years,” Justice Athar Minallah said on Tuesday while the Supreme Court reopened a suo motu case involving claims of meddling in legal proceedings.
A bench consisting of six justices, including Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, Minallah, Mansoor Ali Shah, Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Musarrat Hilali, and Naeem Akhtar Afghan, is deliberating over a letter written by six judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) accusing the nation’s security apparatus of interfering in judicial matters.
Live streaming of the proceedings is available on the SC’s YouTube page and website.
CJP Isa then asked the associations’ and bar councils’ counsels how long they planned to take to make their cases.
