PM lauds Journalists’ fight for truth

ISLAMABAD: In his remarks on World Press Freedom Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underlined the necessity of taking action to ensure journalists’ safety and security so they can report on significant problems without restriction.

He praised the media professionals, writers, cameramen, and journalists for their commitment to the truth.
He said that in order to expose major international concerns, debunk misconceptions and false information, and act as a social watchdog, an independent press is necessary. According to him, the media is also essential in raising public awareness of global concerns including pollution, global warming, green technologies, and climate change.
Press and expression freedoms, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, are the cornerstones of democracy.
