Iran refutes claims of Israeli attack on Isfahan

In the wake of the explosions in Isfahan, Iran has denied charges that Israel is attacking its spirit. An Iranian official told Reuters on Friday that the explosions heard in Isfahan were caused by the activation of air defence systems, and that no missile attack was launched on Iran.

Days after Tehran launched a drone strike in retaliation against Israel, US media source ABC News reported that Israeli missiles had struck an Iranian location.

The explosion was reported near an airport in the Iranian capital of Isfahan, according to the Fars news agency, however the reason was not immediately known. Iran’s state television said that flights were grounded over Tehran, Shiraz, and Isfahan. The province of Isfahan contains multiple nuclear sites in Iran, including Natanz.
