BN Survey: 53% students say will opt for own business after graduation

LAHORE: One of the major questions the students face is about professional available options for them after the completion of their respective degrees.

The job market is tough and doing business is also a tough option, keeping in mind current economic and trade situation of the country, hence, this is rather hard for the youth.

Keeping in mind the whole scenario, Business News conducted a survey in one of the leading private universities of Lahore, University of Management and Technology (UMT), and asked the students about their future plans pertaining personal business, corporate and government jobs to understand the professional tilt of the youngsters.

The survey revealed that 53 percent of the students want to start their own business after the completion of their studies. Meanwhile, 27 stated that they will go for a job for at least three to four years before starting their own business.

Moreover, 20 percent said that they will prefer job in a government institution in future mainly because of its job assurance and reliability.

The survey showed that more and more young people are tending to start their own business or start ups which showed that their increasing trust on personal attributes.

The start ups, specifically, seem viable option mainly because most of these projects need minimum finance as it mainly depend on a new idea, concept and business model. Further, it gives the youth freedom on thinking, ability to survive in the market and much more exposure than the regular jobs.
