UN finds ‘reasonable grounds’ genocide is being committed in Gaza

According to Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the status of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, there are “reasonable grounds” to suspect that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

Speaking at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, she engaged Member States in an interactive debate while presenting her most recent study, “Anatomy of a Genocide.”

She declared, “It is my solemn duty to report on the worst of what humanity is capable of and to present my findings following nearly six months of unrelenting Israeli assault on occupied Gaza.”

“There are good reasons to think that the conditions have been met for the genocide to have occurred.”
