Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was paid a visit on Friday by a delegation from the Barrick Gold Company, which is headed by Chief Executive Officer Mark Bristow. The group was informed that the Reko Diq project in Balochistan will be finished by the end of the current year.
According to the prime minister, the Reko Diq project will fundamentally alter the course of Balochistan’s and the region’s growth.
“This project will usher in a new era of development of the province and prosperity of the people,” he stated.
According to him, arrangements will be made for railway lines and other communication facilities so that Balochistani minerals could be fully utilised.
Barrick Gold was invited to participate in more mineral projects in the province by the prime minister.
