Work ahead is ‘difficult’ but not ‘impossible’: PM Shehbaz Sharif

In his first speech as the nation’s 24th prime minister, Shehbaz  praised PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif for putting him forward for the coveted  position. He also thanked his allies, the PPP, the MQM-P, and others, for their support. As the next prime minister, Benazir Bhutto, the daughter of PPP  founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, was honoured for having paid the  ultimate price for democracy, and the prime minister-elect bemoaned the “judicial murder” of her father. Shehbaz attacked the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) without naming names, criticising the group for  harassing the opposition when it was in power, acting against the  interests of the nation, and making grave accusations against the  military services. “The distinction between the [two] leaderships is this.
