The media on Wednesday claimed that the newly elected members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly were sworn in during a session that started after more than an hour of delay because of disturbances caused by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers in the assembly. The meeting was scheduled to start at 11 a.m., but it was postponed because the elected members were having trouble getting into the assembly hall. Several PTI employees attempted to enter the room and even hurled a shoe and a “lota” at Sobia Shahid, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). The freshly elected parliamentarians were given an oath of office by Speaker Mushtaq Ghani. During today’s session, 113 newly elected members who were chosen for general assembly seats were sworn in.
