On Wednesday, Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman declared that he will call a session of the Punjab Assembly upon receiving a request. In order to form a new government, he added that the Punjab Assembly should meet in a few days. Speaking with the media following the opening of the two-day Pak Pharma and Healthcare Expo at the Expo Centre in Lahore, he stated that the work on the constitution had already been completed by the previous administrations and would continue. Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman stated that the caretaker government’s plan to deregulate medicine pricing must be taken into consideration by the incoming administration, and that regulations shouldn’t be so onerous that they prompt pharmaceutical businesses to consider exiting the market. Furthermore, regulations shouldn’t be so lax that businesses begin taking advantage of the general public.
