According to state-run Radio Pakistan, Information Minister Murtaza Solangi stated that there was no impasse between political parties over discussions about forming a new government. In an interview with the Islamabad media, he stated that no party was able to obtain a simple majority. The minister emphasised that February 29 is the deadline for calling a meeting of the National Assembly in accordance with the Constitution. “We still have a few days to call a meeting of the recently elected Lower House,” Solangi stated, stressing that the Constitution was quite detailed and provided remedies in the event that political parties were unable to come to an agreement.
