Baloch protesters call off sit-in

On Tuesday, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) decided to end  their 30-day-long sit-in outside Islamabad’s National Press Club (NPC). Since December 20, 2023, protesters from the Baloch community  have been staging demonstrations against “enforced disappearances and extra-judicial killings” in the federal capital. One of the demonstration organisers, activist Dr. Mahrang Baloch,  stated that they are travelling back to Balochistan from Islamabad. “On January 27, we’re going to have a rally in Balochistan,” she  continued. This happened the day after NPC Islamabad complained to the  Kohsar Police Station on Monday, demanding that the Baloch  protesters be removed from the public park in front of the NPC.
