Murtaza Solangi, the federal minister for information, broadcasting, and parliamentary affairs, stated on Thursday that the caretaker government was required by the constitution to comply with the Election Commission of Pakistan’s administrative, financial, and security obligations. Speaking to the journalists outside the ECP, he declared that the nation’s elections would take place on Thursday, February 8, 2024, if all goes according to plan. He stated that the ECP was mandated by the constitution to organise free, fair, and transparent elections across the nation. Furthermore, Murtaza Solangi stated that the caretaker administration supported the Election Commission and was legitimate and constitutional. According to the minister, there are legitimate security concerns, which the government is aware of and is working to address.
