The caretaker government lacks the ability to postpone the elections, according to Murtaza Solangi, the minister of information and broadcasting. Speaking to the media, he stated that the Election Commission has the constitutional authority to announce or modify the election date in accordance with Article 218(3) of the Constitution. The Minister did state that the government will help the Pakistani Election Commission conduct free, fair, and transparent elections, though. The Minister admitted that there are issues, but they are not serious enough to cause the elections to be postponed. The Minister stated that while the Secretary of the Election Commission is unwell, politics should not be involved. According to Murtaza Solangi, our security forces are equipped to handle any security issue.
