Shahzad urges contesting elections on manifesto

Dr. Shahzad Waseem, the Senate opposition leader, has pushed  political parties to run for office in the 2018 elections on platform emphasising public welfare. During Senate session, he stressed that political parties must work together to confront the issues facing the nation. Dr. Shahzad Waseem further urged the maintenance of the nation’s advantageous policies and economic stability. In the run-up to the elections, he argued that there should be fair play and that political parties should be free to conduct their own campaigns. The head of the opposition pleaded for the provision of safe space  in which political parties may run their campaigns. He brought up historical occurrences, like as the assassinations of  ANP chiefs and political figures like Benazir Bhutto during earlier  election campaigns.
