During his ongoing visit to the US, General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has met a number of important US government and military figures, including US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Charles Q. Brown, Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, Secretary of Defence General (R) Lloyd J. Austin, Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, and Deputy National Security Adviser Jonathan Finer. Concerns about current conflicts, global and regional security, and items of bilateral importance were reviewed, according to a news release from Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). In order to pursue common objectives, the parties decided to keep in touch and look into possible bilateral collaboration opportunities. The two main areas of cooperation that were identified after meetings with defence officials were defence and counterterrorism cooperation.
