EAC charts course for $100 billion export vision

Under the direction of Dr. Gohar Ejaz, the caretaker minister for  commerce, the Export Advisory Council (EAC) convened here on  Friday to set the framework for Pakistan’s $100 billion export vision. According to news release here, the council took into consideration plans to increase domestic exports to $50 billion within the next  five years. The minister expressed optimism that Pakistan’s textile exports  could exceed $50 billion with coordinated efforts and strategic  initiatives, making substantial contribution to the economic  progress of the nation. He emphasised that Pakistan could be able to reduce its debt load  and get competitive edge in the international market by  implementing strong export strategy.
