According to Dr. Umar Saif, the Federal Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT), Pakistan is becoming the region’s centre for digital innovation and information and communication technology (ICT). In his speech at the Pak-Qatar IT Conference in Doha, Qatar, he emphasised Pakistan’s profusion of innovation and business success stories as well as its talent pool. He stated that there are many Pakistani knowledge workers in Qatar and urged Pakistani IT companies to take use of this savvy diaspora to gain a footing in the Qatari market. The Pak-Qatar IT Conference was previously opened by Dr. Umar Saif. It was a cooperative effort primarily comprising the Pakistani Embassy in Qatar, the Ministry of IT and Telecom (MOITT), and Pakistan Business Council Qatar, with backing from the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC).
