In the reference filed in connection with the Al-Qadir Trust case, an accountability court in Islamabad on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for property tycoon Malik Riaz, three other people, and former special aides to the premier, Zulfi Bukhari and Mirza Shahzad Akbar. Farhat Shahzadi, a close friend of the late premier Imran Khan’s wife, attorney Ziaul Mustafa Nasim, and Riaz’s son Ali Ahmed Riaz were also granted non-bailable arrest warrants. In relation to the Al-Qadir Trust issue, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a referral against Imran and seven other people, including his wife Bushra Bibi, last week. According to the case, Imran and Bushra Bibi got land valued at hundreds of kanals and billions of rupees from Bahria Town Ltd in exchange for the legalisation of Rs50 billion.
