Finance Secretary Imdad Ullah Bosal informed the electoral watchdog on Monday that funding for the upcoming general elections will be given in a day or two, in response to concerns expressed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The Finance Ministry’s lack of response over the budgetary allocation of funding for the polls prompted the electoral body to call Bosal. This happened while Pakistan was getting ready for the February 8, 2024, national elections. The secretary stated that the Election Commission will receive the necessary funding from the Finance Ministry. According to the ministry, on November 18, they got the letter that the electoral body had sent on November 14.
