As many as 25 people were martyred while over thirty-seven were left injured in a blast in Hangu town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.
The blast took place in the Jumma Mandi Bazar of the Orakzai Tribal district outside the gate of a seminary. The injured have been rushed to the hospital while the law enforcers have reached the site of the incident.
Nature of the blast is so far unknown. Security sources have told media that a rescue and search operation is underway in the area. However, they have refrained from providing the exact number of casualties in the explosion.
The incident happened hours after at least two policemen were martyred and several others injured in a terrorist attack near Chinese Consulate in Karachi.
The incident happened around 9:30 am in Clifton Block 4, an area of the metropolitan, where offices of other foreign countries are also present; the police have already declared the area red zone.
All staff of the consulate, comprising around 25 people, remained safe in the attack as Rangers and police foiled the terror bid successfully.
