Murtaza Solangi, the acting federal minister for information, broadcasting, and parliamentary affairs, stated on Wednesday that the rights of minorities in India, particularly the Kashmiris who have been fighting for their right to self-determination for more than 70 years, must be protected by a politically stable and economically robust Pakistan. Speaking at the Kashmir conference, which was co-hosted by the Friends of Kashmir and the Kashmir Media Service, he declared that Pakistan would keep up its moral, political, and diplomatic support for the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people until the occupied region is released. He claimed that despite being a supposedly democratic country, majoritarian Hindu hardliners in India were mistreating and victimising minorities.
