Syed Jamal Shah, the caretaker federal minister for national heritage and culture, reaffirmed on Wednesday the opening of Virsa, a new heritage channel that will feature dramas in Pushto, Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi, and other languages. The minister discussed these opinions with Muhammad Asim Khichi, the Managing Director of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), during his visit to the news agency’s offices. He was informed about the APP’s initiatives to promote regional languages and the nation’s rich cultural legacy. He underlined the value of tradition and culture in promoting diversity-based togetherness. According to him, a nation cannot progress unless its citizens possess a robust cultural identity that binds them to their homeland.
