President should represent all political parties: Minister

In order to promote national unity, President Dr. Arif Alvi should represent all political parties in line with the law and the Constitution, according to acting Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi stated here on Sunday. Speaking to the media, Solangi urged the president to speak on behalf of all political parties, emphasising that his function was not exclusive to any one party. He claimed that President Alvi’s reputation would be damaged if he kept speaking on behalf of a single political party. In response to a question, he emphasised that elected officials will rule the nation and that everyone should work together to uphold the Constitution. Stressing the importance of democracy as a forum for discussion, Solangi downplayed worries about complaints and grievances, stating that every party and individual had the right to voice their concerns at appropriate forums including courts and the election commission.
